In 2026, Contra Costa Water District marks 90 years serving our communities. Since our official establishment in 1936 and then the first water delivery through the Contra Costa Canal in 1940, our system has grown to meet the needs of more than half a million people, supported by investments in storage, treatment, and delivery. As we celebrate this milestone, we’re also looking ahead. Today, we’re planning and investing in your water system to ensure reliability for generations to come.
